I asked how to identify who real friends are?

What I got as a response was this...

Sometimes what appears to be your circle is actually your cell.

And the people in that circle are not your friends they are your cellmates.

The only reason you are all so "close" is because you are all chained to the same habits.

If you broke the chain that the habit was attached to you would have nothing in common

A cellmate only gives you a caged mindset, encouraging you to stay where you are because nobody has ever made it out.

A real friend gives you a mind set of freedom, they encourage you to be the first one to make it out, even if it means they must be left behind.

Make sure that's actually your circle of friends and not just a cell full of inmates committing the same crime.
